Tiemanner Oy offers homely accommodation in Lokka, Sodankylä, just a stone’s throw from Lokka Reservoir. Guests can stay in the Old Post House, a four-bedroom traditional Finnish house, or in Grandma’s Cottage, which comfortably accommodates two adults. We also provide short-term respite care for older people at Family Care Home Tuovinen, as well as home care services.

Accommodation for those seeking peace and quiet in nature

We accommodate travellers year-round, including hunting, hiking and snowmobile groups, as well as skiers. Our accommodation is located in the “crook” between Lokka Reservoir and the dam. From here, it is easy to head into the wilderness for hiking, hunting or even fishing on the lake.

On request, we offer small-scale guided excursions in the surrounding rivers and waterways. In winter conditions, you can book a guided excursion provided that participating customers have their own snowmobiles and equipment.

Lokka, Sodankylä – stay in the heart of the Lapland wilderness

The village of Lokka and the Lokka Reservoir are located approximately 90 kilometres from central Sodankylä. Sompio National Park, with its Nattastunturi fells, lies north of the Lokka Reservoir. Visitors may only travel along marked trails within the national park.

The village of Lokka lies southeast of the lake and is surrounded by a vast wilderness area. From our yard, you can set off directly onto a hiking trail or, in winter, a cross-country ski track. Lokka offers excellent fishing spots, and hunters are always welcome to stay with us.

Services for seniors in a family care home and at home in Sodankylä

Perhekoti Tuovinen is located in the village of Lokka, Sodankylä. We offer older people short-term respite care lasting one or two weeks, for example while family caregivers take a break. Guests have a private room for the duration of their stay, along with round-the-clock care and support.

We also offer home-help services, with or without a service voucher, including cleaning, cooking, outdoor work, laundry, sauna assistance and more.

Accommodation is provided by the experienced Oksanen entrepreneurial couple, Sirpa and Hannes, who have gained experience in many fields over the years.

These enterprising hosts have experience in areas including professional fishing, importing fish products, operating various types of machinery, and providing care and home-help services.

The family business Tiemanner Oy was founded in 2000.

Thanks to our wide-ranging expertise and local knowledge, we can also provide guests, by separate arrangement, with a variety of guiding services, such as guided hiking and hunting trips
